Monk mode has been a constant in my life.
When I was 17, I got really into playing the guitar. The problem was that I had no musical talent whatsoever.
Even so, by setting aside 4+ hours for daily practice, I soon played concerts with musicians years ahead of me.
When I was 24, I fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu. For the next two years, I did nothing but sleep, eat, and train.
I got my purple belt in record time and eventually my black belt too. I even ran my own MMA gym for several years.
When I was in my mid-30s, I decided I wanted to work online, so I could travel the world.
I start contacting potential clients 24/7. I would only stop to eat, exercise and go to the bathroom.
Within three months I had several clients that were paying me $100–$150/hour. I have been traveling the world ever since.
Any big, scary goal I ever accomplished was because of monk mode.
